ASSEMBLY OF THE FIRST BORN

They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were killed with the sword. They
wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented-- of whom the
world was not worthy… But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is
not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them…Therefore we also, since we
are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so
easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,  looking unto Jesus,
the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross.

God raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,  far
above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in
this age, but also in that which is to come. He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him
to be head over all things for the assembly, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all....
because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us
alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit
together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus…You have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the
living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the universal
gathering and assembly of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to
the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant.      Eph 1,2 &
Heb 11,12:

                            JESUS IS THE HEAD AND WE ARE HIS BODY

  • We believe it is by grace through faith in God’s abundant mercy, as revealed in the death and
    resurrection of Jesus Christ, that we are saved. Being born again not of the flesh but by the
    Spirit and through His Spirit we are grafted into the church from the Greek ekklesia meaning
    those called out of the world to assemble in Christ.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of all principality and all power, and the one and the
    only head over all things to the ekklesia best translated assembly which is His body the very
    fullness of Him who fills everything everywhere.

  • We believe that this mystery concerning Christ and the assembly, was not made known to the
    sons of men in ages past, even the prophets of Israel could not comprehend it. And yet the
    assembly has been the eternal purpose of God even from before the foundation of the world. To
    this day, it is still only understood by revelation, and it is this revelation of the mystery of
    Christ, that is the rock upon which  Christ is building His assembly.

  • We believe that according to the measure of His grace each one of us has been equipped with
    spiritual gifts which He intends for us to use to the building up of one another, until we all come
    into the unity of the faith unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

  •    We believe that He has placed in His body some that are apostles, some prophets, some
    evangelists and in the local assembly some shepherds and teachers. These are never to be
    exalted for they are not the rulers of, but rather servants whose purpose is to serve the body
    laboring until each individual member is completely equipped for the work of ministry.

  •    We believe that all of Scripture is inspired by God and is  profitable unto us for doctrine, for
    reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness. It is the measuring rod by which all
    teaching, all prophetic utterance and all practices of fellowship must be judged.
